I'm writing to raise a concern about a health issue that I think is being neglected.

It's called craniofacial dystrophy, and the high prevalence of it has been referred to as the Jaw Epidemic.

The problem comes from our jaws not developing properly. In my case I've suffered from sleep-disordered breathing, chronic tension, jaw joint disorder, and impacted teeth, which has had a significant impact on almost every area of my life.

This condition is currently not well recognised or treated on the NHS, and current treatment standards in orthodontics can even make it worse. It can be prevented, but this requires awareness from doctors, dentists, and parents.
